Everyone has always dreamed of becoming something when they grow up. Becoming a “Rock Star” was the number one thing on PooPooPuss’ mind. When PooPooPuss was just a ‘lil kitten, her daddy bought her a guitar. She was so happy! Every day, PooPooPuss practiced until she became really good. Although PooPooPuss loved to perform in front of her neighborhood every weekend, she wanted something more…to become a famous Rock Star! So, PooPooPuss auditioned at a popular hang-out called “House of Poop.” She was especially nervous because celebrity judges, Simon Cow, Paula Poodle and Randy Jaguar were there! The curtains opened, and it was her time to shine. PooPooPuss performed her heart out. The judges were impressed by her skills and thought she was the best they had heard all night.
The crowd cheered, “PooPooPuss! PooPooPuss!”
The next day, PooPooPuss woke up to the “pooparazzi.” Cameras were everywhere and light bulbs were flashing. She couldn’t believe how famous she was becoming! Though, around noon, they finally left. PooPooPuss called her friends (Candy the Kangaroo, Jeff the Jackrabbit, and Peter the Panda) to see if they wanted to hang out. They all agreed to meet at the “House of Poop” for lunch. They sat around and talked.
“So, how was the audition?” asked Candy.
“Great!”, replied PooPooPuss. “They really liked me!”
PooPooPuss’ friends were really supportive of her dream, but sometimes she got the feeling that they didn’t like the “fame.” Just as they were about to order lunch, a group of pooparazzi dashed through the doors towards PooPooPuss. Her friends sighed and walked away. PooPooPuss was left alone with the crazy mob.
“Just leave me alone,” cried PooPooPuss as she got up from the table.
That night, PooPooPuss read through all her mail. There were many letters offering thousands of dollars to PooPooPuss to perform in places like Tokyo, Paris, New York, and Las Vegas. PooPooPuss realized that her friends were more important to her than being a famous rock star. She needed to do something about it. The next morning, PooPooPuss was scheduled for a press conference to share the journey of her fame. Instead of talking about her fame, she told everyone that she was going to quit being a rock star. She explained how her journey taught her a valuable lesson.
“Good friends are hard to come by. And nothing in this lifetime can replace a good, solid friendship…not even fame!”
At first, everyone looked disappointed, but slowly, the crowd began to applaud one at a time until PooPooPuss received a standing ovation!
